Los filadelfianos apenas conocen el Mes de la Herencia Hispana

Después de merodear un buen rato por el parque Dilworth preguntando a los transeúntes algunas cuestiones sobre el Mes de la Herencia Hispana, mi colega y yo nos dimos cuenta de que la mayoría de los filadelfianos no conoce demasiado bien este evento cultural de envergadura nacional.

The Catholic pontiff concluded his four-day visit to Colombia by giving an open Mass in which he encouraged Colombian population to be involved in the peace process to help the country recover from its decades-long armed conflict with the FARC and other guerrilla groups. He also addressed the heavy polarization among Colombian society.

A Clueless City: Philadelphians Lack Basic Knowledge of Hispanic Heritage Month

We went around City Hall and asked the people of Philadelphia what they know, or don't know, about Hispanic Heritage Month. These are the results!

After scurrying around City Hall and Dilworth Park to ask civilians simple questions about Hispanic Heritage Month for a short video, my colleague and I soon realized that the majority of Philadelphia is ill-prepared and misinformed about this nationally recognized celebratory period. Nevertheless, between every “um”, “uh”, or absolute radio silence, there came a widespread longing to understand and know more about this time of year. The interest is there, so why hasn’t the City taken advantage of it?

Universal free education is one of the hallmarks of the Cuban Revolution, although for a number of years the shortfall in the number of teachers and reportedly low quality of the offered classes have been the focus of attention on the island, where students make up about one-fifth of the population.

Universidades de Arizona seguirán ofreciendo tarifas de residentes a los "Dreamers"

La junta que representa a las tres universidades públicas del estado acordó seguir otorgando este beneficio a los estudiantes indocumentados amparados bajo el programa DACA hasta que la Suprema Corte de Apelaciones del estado de Arizona tome una decisión al respecto, algo que podría concretarse en uno o dos años.

En EEUU hay miles de graduados indocumentados cuya situación de ilegalidad no les permite encontrar un buen trabajo. 

En EEUU hay miles de inmigrantes indocumentados que no lograron ampararse en el programa DACA por sobrepasar el límite de edad. Muchos de estos lograron graduarse en la universidad, pero ahora viven con temor a ser deportados y no poder realizar sus sueños.
